In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the CLEAR Center is closely monitoring guidance from the University of Washington, as well as the state and federal governments, to determine adjustments to operations. Below are steps currently being taken by the CLEAR Center in response to the COVID-19 crisis. This page will be updated as circumstances change.

  1. On 3/6/2020, CLEAR Center faculty and staff were advised to work from home until the University of Washington provides guidance otherwise.

  2. All meetings will take place via the CLEAR Center’s Zoom accounts until in-office work can resume. Kathryn James will handle most of the scheduling but both Dr. Jarvik and Dr. Gold also have Zoom accounts that can be used to facilitate normal operations.

  3. The following recurring meetings will occur per usual:
    • CLEAR Center Internal Steering Committee meeting (every other Monday 1:00pm-2:00pm Pacific)
    • LIRE/CLEAR Data Analysis meeting (every other Monday 2:00pm-3:00pm Pacific)
    • LIRE/CLEAR Research meeting (every Friday 2:30pm-4:00pm Pacific)

  4. CLEAR Center-related clinical research projects are following institutional guidance and policies surrounding clinical research during COVID-19 period. Anyone conducting CLEAR Center research should review the following resources for the most up-to-date guidance:
  5. We will schedule consults using Zoom that under normal circumstances would have occurred in person at the UW Tower (particularly ad hoc faculty and data analyst project-specific discussions).

  6. We encourage all CLEAR Center faculty and staff to attend the UW Town Hall meetings regarding UW Medicine-wide COVID-19 response. Town hall archives and other UW Medicine updates and resources can be found at the UW Medicine Huddle.

  7. We encourage all CLEAR Center faculty and staff to participate in weekly “virtual coffee breaks” on Wednesdays at 10am to stay in touch and provide support. For details on joining these coffee breaks, email theclearcenter@uw.edu.

  8. The Center will follow the department of Radiology’s Human Resources department recommendations regarding UW travel bans, childcare emergencies, and the use of sick leave. These policies continue to evolve and are distributed via UW email.

  9. CLEAR Center staff will complete and submit telework agreements to Radiology HR. We anticipate that we will be able to continue performance of regular job duties, including attending regularly scheduled Center meetings, provided employee and employee’s family remain healthy.
